A very effective but simple way to keep your body cleansed, nourished and healthy is to oxygenate the body. There is a breathing technique in which you fill your lungs with wholesome oxygen. The mere act of oxygenating our bodies will naturally facilitate the body’s detoxification processes?
Breathing air is something we do every day all day long. Unfortunately it’s polluted in some areas, so be aware of this fact. You don’t want to practice deep breath practice standing on the corner of a busy street waiting for your bus. Ideally you should do your breathing practice at home, inside or outdoors if it happens to be in a non-polluted environment.
Standing in a long, slow, soothing breath, filling up your stomach til you feel it could explode. Contain the breath as long as you’re able (never force it), then gradually release the breath through the mouth. The exercise involves 5 to 10 breaths in this mode.
Over time, you can alter this technique by bringing the arms up toward the ceiling during the inhale, and then gently lower the arms as you exhale.
Deep breathing drives oxygen into the blood stream, which transmits it into the cells and tissues of your body to nourish and cleanse them of toxic substances. Supplemental oxygen in the body induces the blood flow and movement of lymph fluid throughout your lymphatic system. Both of these circulatory systems are key players in our body’s purification capacities.
