The PM and the Chancellor of the Exchequer Ignore the Pleas of Small and Medium Sized Employers Yet Again

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:35 am

A vast number of people including myself were upset with the Pre Budget announcement .

I had prayed that the Government would have tackled the issues and dealt with the fundamental such as the existing pitiful state of the public purse, Public sector Pay, Aiding the SME sector, boosting saving and investment and getting the banks to be realistic about lending to business organisations.

Like most business owners I concur that we need to have a combined approach of tax gains expenditure cuts.

The old statement from Gordon Brown is that rapid would hurt our economy and strangle the recovery. My opinion is that although sweeping rapid cuts could cause a stall in the economy, the timescales projected is just a little too late.

It seems that the Chancellor is just piddling around the edges of reform and does not want to sway the boat too much before an election.

The effect of accelerative public borrowing can be seen when you look at the Eire Economic State of affairs. The once Celtic tiger has had its claws taken out. Actual cuts in pay are a realism along with forceful proposals to trim back public borrowing.

I virtually choked on my tea the other night, whilst watching the six o clock news. Local Government employees were upset about a ceiling on salary increments of 1%.

I would much rather be in that position, as opposed to working for the Public sector in Eire.

Many small company owners have actually taken pay cuts in the last year, due to the economic slowdown.

As ifa’s we offer a Small Business Advice service to our clients on a daily basis. I would have loved to see a more fundamental approach to helping as they are an vital part of the economy.
